Getting to and from Wise Wood is a little different depending on where your student lives. Here is some information to help families get started with designated buses and Calgary Transit options.

🚌 Bus Routes for Designated Communities

Wise Wood has four bus routes serving specific communities designated for Henry Wise Wood:

• 780 – Wise Wood / Oakridge (Map)

• 779 – Wise Wood / Riverbend (Map)

• 778 – Wise Wood / Woodlands (Map)

• 776 – Wise Wood / Palliser / Oakridge (Map)

If your student lives in a community that is not designated for Wise Wood, they will need to use regular Calgary Transit routes.

Most parents find the transit app to be the most convenient: transitapp.com 

Download the Transit app:

The app allows students to purchase transit tickets and passes using a credit card. Some families choose to use a separate card for transit purchases.

A couple of things to know:

• Digital passes cannot be activated in advance. If your student needs a pass for September 1, they can purchase it on August 31st, but they will need to activate it on September 1st.

• If your student does not have mobile data, make sure they purchase and activate their ticket/pass before leaving home or while they have Wi-Fi.

📍 When is the bus coming?

The posted Calgary Transit schedules are indicative of the planned stop schedules. Transit55.ca is an unofficial, third-party website that provides real-time bus tracking information. It is not operated or supported by Calgary Transit, but many Wise Wood families have found it useful for checking when a bus is expected to arrive - or whether it is running at all.

It can be particularly helpful during the winter when delays and cancellations can make bus travel unpredictable. Transit55 Calgary

Low income passes are available through the City of Calgary Fair Entry program. Apply here: Fair Entry

• Grade 10s all day

• Grade 11 and 12s afternoon only 

8:45 Grade 10s Arrive and remain all day

9:00 - 12:00  Grade 10 Link Activities and Orientation

12:00 - 1:00    Food Trucks (Bring money)

12:00 - 12:30 Grade 10 Band Orientation - Music Room 

12:30 - 1:00 Grade 11/12 Band Orientation - Music Room 

1:00 Outdoor / Indoor Bell Rings for all Grades to move to Period 1 class

Lockers

Will be assigned through Warrior Connect homeroom. Two students will be assigned to each locker. School locks will be provided.

Student ID

Student ID cards are issued on Passport to Success days and on Tuesday,  September 1.
