What does "working a casino" mean? 

All casinos in Alberta require volunteers for them to run. 

Some of the roles are: 

• Take chips to game tables when they need to be re-filled. 

• Pay out customers who want to cash in the chips they have been using.

• Count the money the game tables have brought in during the day. 

All jobs are computerized and there is a paid supervisor to walk everyone through the process. 

Daytime, evening, and late-night shifts available. 

Who can volunteer for casino fundraisers? 

Anyone who is 18 years of age and over, who does not have a criminal conviction and has not excluded themselves from entering a casino. You do not need a police clearance.

Volunteers can be grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends and adult siblings. 

No experience necessary. It's actually a lot of fun and you get to meet others in your school community and make new connections. 

Each volunteer shift brings in approximately $2,000 for our school. 

Don't worry if you've never done it before, you'll get all the training you need. You also get a free meal during your shift.
